Opeth, King Crimson, and Anathema

Listening to the sounds of Damnation, Opeth's album released back in 2003, my mind was set on a certain kind of move, a move like gently sailing a boat on big, yet calm, ocean waves, a sonic move between two albums: King Crimson's In The Court of The Crimson King and Anathema's Alternative 4. And, of course, a pinch of Pink Floyd!

The album title refers to the "Alternative 3" television programme and book. In interviews, the band mentioned they found "Alternative 3" too depressing so they came up with "Alternative 4", which is the album concept.
